Sir Christopher Lee, the last of the classic horror movie stars, an icon of fantasy cinema, and a real-life bad-ass in general, has passed away at the age of 93.
To say the man was a beloved legend would be an understatement. And although he will no doubt be missed, the fact that he was still working into his later years, and by the graces of his many fans-turned-major-film-directors, means that he certainly was not forgotten, nor legacy wasted.
If you guys get a chance, please go and track down "The Devil Rides Out", alias "The Devil's Bride" from 1968.
It's a dark fantasy adventure, where Christopher Lee plays an occult hero, protecting his friends against a Satanic cult. And the various demons that they summon to attack our protagonists. A hugely entertaining, fun film, along with being my personal favorite from Mister Lee and Hammer Films. Highly Recommended
UPDATE: Might as well share this wonderful bit of silliness from the legendary actor.
I've never seen the 1983 comedy "The Return of Captain Invincible", but this is still one of my favorite Christopher Lee moments. Between this, his guest cameo in "The Magic Christian", and "Gremlins 2: The New Batch", my only regret was that Mr. Lee wasn't in more comedies.

Giant Monster Fiction from 1967
Maybe you guys can help me: can you think of any giant monster / kaiju fiction from 1967 that I may have missed? I have most of the movies and television shows that debuted then, but any comics, novels, of cryptozoological sightings that occurred in said year? Captain Ultra (1967) Cyborg 009: War of the Monsters (1967) Doctor Who: The Macra Terror (1967, presumed lost) Equinox... A Journey into the Supernatural, the (1967) Gamera vs Gyaos (1967) Gappa the Triphibian Monsters (1967) Giant Robo / Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot (October 11th 1967) Herculoids, the (September 9th 1967 - January 6th 1968) Jack and the Beanstalk (1967, Hanna-Barbera) Jaguar Man (1967, pilot film) Kaiju Ouji / The Monster Prince (1967-1968) King Kong Escapes (1967) Land of the Giants, promo presentation for ABC (1967) Mad Monster Party (1967) Masked Ninja Akakage (1967-1968) Moby Dick and the Mighty Mightor (1967–1969) Quatermass and the Pit, AKA Five Million Years to Earth (1967) Shazzan (1967–1969) Son

This really depresses me. One of my favorites of his is the original The Wicker Man.
