Turtles may not be considered scary animals by most people, despite some real danger they can offer (snapping turtles and salmonella, for example).
But there have been a lot of villainous, if not just plain dangerous chelonians in fiction, including Gamera, and Morla from ”The Neverending Story”, who've both been proven to be major jerks on occasion.
Not much is currently known about today’s Obscure Kaiju, ”Tor”, except that it was a planned, but ultimately unproduced Stuart Gordon project from 1991, about a giant turtle.
The teaser advert above is the only image connected to this unmade film.
Although, if I was to make an educated speculation, I’d figured Tor itself would have looked like a nightmarish snapping turtle. And one designed and brought to life by Gordon’s frequent special effects collaborators.
Stuart Gordon is of course, the director and writer behind many beloved (and sometimes very gory) cult films, such as ”From Beyond”, ”Re-Animator”, ”Robo Jox”, ”Dagon”, ”Fortress”, ”Honey I Shrunk the Kids”, ”The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit”, and ”Masters of Horror: The Black Cat”.
So yeah...Tor would have been one opposing turtle!

Wow a Giant turtle brought to live by the guy who made Robot Jox? Tell me why this wasn't made again, I would have loved it!
