When darkness beyond human reckoning gathers (along with Han Solo dodging his parole officers), four heroes (well, one hero, one romance-impaired slacker, one alien bounty hunter, and an evil mecha-doppelganger) unite to face the threat head on!

Megaman - Boba Fett - Mechagodzilla - Scott Pilgrim: the Ultimate Team-Up!

I have no clue how such an alliance could possibly work, but it does in the mind of Adam Von Ark - a dear friend and uneasy acquaintance who commissioned this piece from me, featuring four of his all time favorite fictional characters.

Now I can't speak for Adam completely on why he loves Boba Fett, Megaman and Scott Pilgrim, though the last two seem related to his (humorously) disturbing fascination with 'eternal-boy heroes'...

But I can vouch for Mechagodzilla, because I was responsible for introducing the infamous robot to him; Adam is a rabid fan of evil twins and clones, so much so that he's the only person I know on Earth who thinks the Clone Spiderman saga was a good idea. So needless to say, he was more than open to Godzilla's mechanized double, and I often play Japanese monster movies at his place of business (among a larger variety of films that nobody wants to admit too...the cultural wine babies).

And it was well over a year ago, that the original 1974 Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla won him over.

Particularly in the climatic final battle when Mechagodzilla pumps Godzilla with so much lasers, projectiles and razor sharp finger missiles, that the King of the Monsters himself started gushing blood like an unfortunate extra from Kill Bill Vol. 1!

As for the illustration itself; I'm not use to drawing complex robots or battle armor (especially ones NOT of my own design), so neither Mechagodzilla or Boba Fett are totally accurate renditions. But I gave them my best, and I'm satisfied with the results.

Megaman was fairly easy, but he's not as 'anime cute' as his official appearance, while I think I was only half successful with Scott Pilgrim in Bryan Lee O'Malley's artistic style.
