I'm cheating here by reusing and recycling a more elaborate illustration for the basis of the 48th Kaiju Portrait, this time featuring a Hanna-Barbera Godzilla foe, but the combined gradients and color work here is obscured by atmospheric effects from the aforementioned, so here's a clear look at the title subject.
True to its name, The Seaweed Monster is a mass of aquatic algae mutated by radiation into a hostile beast that goes after the crew of Calico and Godzilla when they first discover the aberration deep within the Sargasso Sea (a real-life region of the North Atlantic Ocean steep in legend including seaweed entrapment). The Seaweed Monster is simple but very serviceable as a creature and has a creepy enough design reminiscent of the far more famous G-foe Hedorah, even if The Breeder Beast from this same series is the true Hedorah analog.
Plus, The Seaweed Monster does have a surprisingly well executed death scene for a late 1970s adventure cartoon from The House That Fred Flintstone Built.
